Cold Water Therapy
Cold water therapy is the practice of using water that’s around 59°F (15°C) to treat health conditions and/or stimulate health benefits. Our tubs run at 46 degrees and 33 degrees. It’s also known as “cold hydrotherapy.” This practice has been in use since ancient times, and we are thankful for the opportunity to teach you how to harness the cold in all its greatness. Immersing yourself in cold water has distinct health benefits. We can help make this a daily practice for you. Our tubs are filtered and sanitized with Ozone, which is not a harsh chemical like chlorine. In fact it is great for us and our skin. You are getting the most natural form of healing we can provide while keeping our water safe and clean.
Benefits of Cold Water Therapy:
Reduce muscle soreness and inflammation
Ease symptoms of depression
Balance hormones
Build resiliency
Supercharge cells with nature energy
Boost your immune system
Speed up recovery after physical exercise
Improved cardiovascular circulation
Increased energy and focus
Aids weight loss efforts
Red Light Therapy
Red light therapy (RLT) is a technique that uses red low-level wavelengths of light to treat skin issues such as wrinkles, scars, and persistent wounds, among other conditions.
Red light works by producing a biochemical effect in your cells, in order to strengthen the mitochondria. The mitochondria are the powerhouse of the cell — it’s where the cell’s energy is created. The energy-carrying molecule found in the cells of all living things is called ATP (adenosine triphosphate). By increasing the function of the mitochondria using RLT, a cell can make more ATP. With more energy, cells can function more efficiently, rejuvenate themselves, and repair damage.
RLT is different from laser or intense pulsed light (IPL) therapies because it doesn’t cause damage to the skin’s surface. Laser and pulsed light therapies work by causing controlled damage to the outer layer of the skin, which then induces tissue repair. RLT bypasses this harsh step by directly stimulating regeneration of the skin. The light emitted by RLT penetrates roughly 5 millimeters below the skin’s surface.
Benefits of Red Light Therapy:
Promotes wound healing and tissue repair
Improves hair growth in people with androgenic alopecia
Help for the short-term treatment of carpal tunnel syndrome
Stimulates healing of slow-healing wounds, like diabetic foot ulcers
Reduces psoriasis lesions
Aids with short-term relief of pain and morning stiffness in people with rheumatoid arthritis
Reduces some of the side effects of cancer treatments, including oral mucositis
Improves skin complexion and builds collagen
Helps to diminish wrinkles
Helps to mend sun damage
Prevents recurring cold sores from herpes simplex virus infections
Improves the health of joints in people with degenerative osteoarthritis of the knee
Helps diminish scars
Relieves pain and inflammation in people with pain in the Achilles tendons
Compression Therapy
Compression therapy is an effective method by which controlled pressure is applied to the extremities. This helps increase blood flow and also makes the lymphatic and venous systems more efficient. Traditionally, compression therapy uses socks or stockings, but Re|Connect uses new technology to offer dynamic compression, utilizing compressed air to mobilize fluid as well as improve circulation.
Poor circulation occurs when blood vessels and arteries narrow, making it hard for blood to pass through. Compression therapy works by adding pressure to areas of restricted blood flow, allowing the veins in the limbs to loosen. This loosening decreases venous pressure, reduces edema, and aids the body in moving blood towards the heart. It also engages “lymphatic flush”, which facilitates the removal of waste, swelling, and inflammation from the body.
Benefits of Compression Therapy:
Reduces swelling and inflammation.
Speeds up muscle recovery.
Prevents delayed-onset muscle soreness.
Relieves muscle pain.
Improves athletic performance.
Increases flexibility and range of motion.
Removes exercise-related wastes, like lactic acid.
Decreases muscle fatigue.
Infrared Sauna
An infrared sauna is a type of sauna that uses light to create heat. This type of sauna is sometimes called a far-infrared sauna — "far" describes where the infrared waves fall on the light spectrum. A traditional sauna uses heat to warm the air, which in turn warms your body. An infrared sauna heats your body directly without warming the air around you.
Benefits of using an Infrared Sauna:
Better sleep
Relaxation
Detoxification
Weight loss
Relief from sore muscles
Relief from joint pain such as arthritis
Clear and tighter skin
Improved circulation
Help for people with chronic fatigue syndrome
